The Royal Air Force Club is a private members’ club located in London’s Mayfair which offers luxurious surroundings to serving and former serving officers of the RAF and Allied Air Forces. Founded in 1918 and having opened its doors in 1922, the Club’s building is full of history and character. With 93 bedrooms and 8 meeting and banqueting rooms, the Club is a truly hidden gem with modern and elegant interior and facilities.

Basic Functions
  • Responsible for keeping bedrooms, public areas and back of house clean, safe, stocked and maintained.
  • Responsible for reporting any maintenance deficiencies and handling member/guest requests or complaints.
  • Ensure member/guest confidentiality at all times.
Responsibilities;
  • Report to Housekeeping office at rostered time, collect work sheet, and sign in
  • Prepare your work equipment
  • Clean assigned public areas
  • Ensure public areas, bedrooms, associated rooms and corridors are cleaned thoroughly to the standard required and are properly presented
  • Attend Housekeeping meetings as required
  • Clean assigned members/guests bedrooms;
  • Clean bedrooms by priority
  • Remove rubbish, dirty linen and trays
  • Check that all appliances are present in the room and in working order
  • Replace dirty linens and towels with clean items
  • Making of beds including moving to vacuum underneath the bed base as required
  • Move furniture as required to be able clean under and round
  • Straighten desk items, furniture, and appliances
  • Dust, polish, and remove marks from walls and furnishings
  • Clean bathrooms
  • Replace guest amenities and supplies in bedrooms and public area
    • Dust and vacuum corridor
    • Cleaning equipment are to be restocked, cleaned and left neatly in the designated storage area
    • Perform spring cleans and extra jobs as directed
    • Work in all areas of the Club when required (including back of house and laundry).
    • Follow all health, safety and security procedures:
  • Follow all Club safety and security policies and procedures;
  • Attend all training as requested
  • Report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, injuries, suspicious behaviour or occurrences to a Manager or supervisor
  • Maintain personal hygiene and grooming as per Staff Handbook
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information
  • Ensure adherence to quality expectations and standards
  • Handle food safely according to the Club Food Safety policy and procedures
  • Attend to lost property according to Lost property procedure
  • Support team to reach common goals. Support all co-workers and treat them with dignity and respect
  • Attend staff meetings and contribute to continuous improvement in the Housekeeping department
  • Assist other employees to ensure proper coverage and prompt service to members/guests (cover linen porter, evening room attendant, house porter duties when required)
  • Implement changes in cleaning practices and Housekeeping methods as directed
  • Communicate with members/guests in a friendly and professional manner
  • Welcome and acknowledge all members/guests according to Club standards
  • Act on members/guests requests immediately
Requirements
  • Operate in a Team environment
  • Able to start at 7am on Sundays
  • Able to take and follow instruction
  • Able to work alone and unsupervised
  • Move, lift, carry objects weighing less than or equal to 20 kg without assistance. Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Managers and Supervisors
  • Good command of English
  • Have proof of eligibility to work in the United Kingdom
  • 35 hour working week
  • Various shifts including 7am – 2pm and 8am – 3pm
  • Salary: £335.00 per week plus exceptional benefits
